He can control everything, but he allows us to have a free will. That's why he aloud Satan to sin. That's why Adam and Eve sin. He created souls and people, not robots.
Except Eve sinned and so did Adam, leading to nowadays. It was a "happy life." You could ride lions and play with snakes and not get hurt.

I don't think anyone really cared what shape the world was. The idea of the world being flat came along later, so it's a very poor example of "how people were back then."
If my father tells me to write a book about him, and he wants it to be like an instruction book, I would probably write it, exactly how he wants it. God gave Luke, John, Paul, Mark, and the other authors the inspiration to keep records and to pass them on. Besides, who WOULDN'T document the beginning of the world, Christ's life, and what is soon to come?

And you need to learn more about Christianity because you don't know enough about it to properly debate. As far as I know, you just Googled things that make the Bible appear "false" or "bad."
Yes, but evolution also claims that it took millions of years for the universe, even the Earth, to form. And then there's also how animals and people were created.
If evolution were true, then everyone's brains would work that way. I'm saying EVOLUTIONISTS brains work that way, because THEY believe that is how their brain works, doncha know. Believing in evolution means that you believe your brain doesn't work right and your thoughts are just results from blind chemistry. Of course, you truly don't know that since your thoughts about your thoughts that your thoughts are only thoughts because of random chemistry that happened "billions of years ago," so even thinking about your brain isn't truly thinking about your brain.
(Did you follow through that?)
But, Christians believe their brain was made by God, so it is perfect (or, fairly perfect, since sin damaged it a bit). And our thoughts are from our soul, our worldview is unique because every person is different because of God. So our brains are not the result of random, blind chemistry, you see.
Where did instincts come from, then? How did they evolve?

Well, it's saying that the places in it are not made up, and that makes the whole story more likely to be true.

There are two things that you have to decide on. There is what you believe in, and there is evidence (proof).
If your friend went to jail, and there is evidence that he is guilty, you may consider that he might, indeed be guilty, but you believe he isn't because you know him.
I believe in the Bible and God because, despite this evolution theory, which has "proof" to support it, I still believe in the Bible because, I'll be honest, I find evolution to be ridiculous.

I believe that there is air. There isn't much proof that there is air, since you can't really see it unless you use a special computer. Yet, I still believe there is air. And I still believe there is God. Besides, believing that air did not exist wouldn't make sense, since you need air to survive. Same with God. We would not be here without Him. Just because you can't see it, just because there isn't "proof," doesn't mean that it isn't there.

So, you want to believe that you're not important? True, if you died right now, people on the other side of the planet wouldn't care, probably wouldn't even know. But we still care about the people around us. If we weren't important, then murdering wouldn't be against the law. If I'm not important, why not kill me? It wouldn't matter. Just because some people think it's wrong doesn't matter. I'm not important, neither are you. We could all die and it wouldn't matter.
What a sad world it would be. Teens think that and that's why they commit suicide.

Your last comment, you admitted that some things you had done were wrong. I didn't mean that you were wrong, as in incorrect (though some things are).

Genesis 9:1-8
God blessed Noah and his sons and told them, "Multiply and fill the earth. All the wild animals, large and small, and all the birds and fish will be afraid of you. I have placed them in your power. I have given them to you for good, just as I have given you grain and vegetables. But you must never eat animals that still have their lifeblood in them. And murder is forbidden. Animals that kill people must die, and any person who murders must be killed. Yes, you must execute anyone who murders another person, for to kill a person is to kill a living being made in God's image. Now you must have many children and repopulate the earth. Yes, multiply and fill the earth!"
I decided to give you the whole paragraph, since there were other things related to other topics in our debate.

Marriage is based on love. And yes, there is such a thing as a true love, the person God has planned for you to marry (that is also why I am against modern dating). Not the Prince Charming "true love."
    BBChild says...
God can't control our hearts. It's up to us whether we follow Him or not. Satan, sadly, decided not to. You can't control people. If God wanted to, He probably could make everyone be good and stuff, but then why live, if you can't make your own decisions? God even gave Satan a second chance before He kicked him out of heaven, but Satan decided to be against God.

The Bible is a history textbook. Besides, why should we believe in evolution? After all, it was made up by a guy who thought things took eons to form. The books about evolution are written by a man.
It's a history book. Of course it doesn't explain things like that. A math book never explains LA.

Well, you believe we evolved from monkeys, look at how uncivilized they are. So, if evolution is true, we obviously improved. And therefore, we will continue improving. That's what evolution is.
Of course, it may be hard for an evolutionist to understand that, since their brain is only the outcome of random, blind chemistry. So, an evolutionist will say (like you) "Evolution is true" not because it is, but because they must say it because of how their faulty brain works. Any statement evolutionists say doesn't really matter if, of course, evolution were truth. But since evolution could not possibly be true, the only other possibility is Creation.

The Bible is very old. The things that happened in it are true. You can go to Israel, you can go to Egypt. There's all the cities and even all the people. You can find records of everything, including Hezekiah's Tunnel. The Bible documents the stories that took place there.

Well, I choose to believe in God, simply because in my heart I believe He is real. Despite not being able to see Him, I still know and believe He is there.
Yes, in fact, I do believe everyone has a purpose, and I believe that God watches over us and cares for us. If we were meaningless, then why would we care about others? Why would we have a heart?
If life was meaningless, what reason do we have to move on?

You are intelligent, and I'm glad that you know what you do is wrong, and admit it.

It says it in the Bible. I want you to be aware that I never make things up when I am debating.

I don't really know. Maybe when I get to know Him better, I'll be able to find out.

You can look at someone and all you'll see is skimpy clothes and way too much makeup. You would probably just assume that they're a bad person, even though you don't have any proof of that. Or, you can get to know them and you'll discover they're actually really nice inside.
That's why you can't take things out of context. And I really hope you didn't Google things like that. I had assumed you had a Bible yourself, and read through it to prove it wrong. That's the only way you can really debate, since you're trying to prove Creation is false.

Love is a feeling, true, but that's not what I meant. There's three kinds of love: There's friendship, there's marriage, and there's love for something which is a personal preference (such as I loving horses.)
Why do we care about each other? Why do we care about what happens to our friends?
    BBChild says...
And here's a verse for you. You can either look it up in your Bible (assuming you have one, since you know a bit about Christianity), or read it here. It's one of my favorite verses, excellent for this debate. Peter said it well. :)

For we did not follow cleverly devised tales when we made known to you the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, but we were eyewitnesses of His majesty.
- 2 Peter 1:16
    BBChild says...
There was an angel in heaven--Satan--who became arrogant because he wasn't as great as God. He tried to be better than Him, but of course, failed. God punished him by sending him down to earth, where he could never return to heaven.
Satan tempted Eve into eating the fruit, and viola, sin entered the world.

The Bible isn't made up. It can explain our abilities and historical events. Can you explain how the Walls of Jericho fell? If it had been a natural cause, then all of them would have fallen, but a section was left untouched. If an army had come, the walls would have crumbled in.
Well, our complicated brains being created at random is pretty far fetched. Besides that, evolution is saying that we improve and get better and better. The world isn't getting better and better.

The thing that I don't get is you don't want to accept the Bible as more history. It's a history textbook about things that we wouldn't have known about if there hadn't been some great writers. I can only assume that the reason you don't want to believe it is because the Bible says you must repent and accept your a sinner, and you just don't want to admit that. That's why there was the flood; everyone didn't want to believe in God because to believe in Him you have to repent and stop doing sinful things.

I don't know why God created us. I'll have to ask Him some day.
We were perfect, but because of Satan we're where we are now.

God blessed them so they could reproduce without encountering that problem.

Always is another way of saying "forever" or "eternally." God is unchanging and eternal.
Waiting for what so long?

Yes, but all of that "proof" is taken out of context. You can't understand a verse unless you read the verses before and after, or even the entire chapter.

Didn't they teach you that in your evolution classes?

Evolution cannot explain out abilities. Why do you have to be rational? Why do we have to debate reasonably? Why do we love? Why do we hate? Why do we care about each other?
Can you explain? Can Evolution explain why we do all these things?
    Rha says...
one thing if you don't "play" this site then don't post in my forum
    BBChild says...
There is also proof that the Bible is real. As you can see, Israel is loosing her allies. The Bible says that "Israel will stand alone" before Judgement Day. The Arabs will attack Israel, but they will be destroyed by fire that will rain down from the sky.
    BBChild says...
Why would it exist even if we didn't? There was nothing to begin with.

They couldn't do anything. The chemotherapy had stopped working.
God didn't plan for the people to starve. Now you're blaming God for things. It's our fault people starve, it's our fault there's decease. God has nothing to do with it; He didn't create sin.

So evolution is so complicated one book can't cover it? And you say Creation is complicated...
The Bible can explain things that nothing else can't. The greek myths aren't real, they just made it up. Besides that, their myths were pretty far fetched.

I didn't say they were broken. I used that as an example. If everything got deformed at the same time, it would still be structurally sound.

God created us, and we were perfect. But we sinned, which brought decease, death, and flaw into the world. That's why there is crime and hate.
I know enough that if evolution were true, I couldn't debate now. See, an evolutionist can debate, but within his/her own worldview (or red classes), they cannot account for that ability to debate.
God blessed Eve so she could be the mother of all nations. At that time it was natural to marry a relative, unlike nowadays.

Nothing came before God. God has always existed. I'll have to ask Him why He created the Earth. I actually don't know why.

Tell me the verses you read that say that. And make sure you read the entire chapter. You can never take things out of context.
I know God. I haven't seen Him face to face yet, but I have heard Him speak. He has always been talking, but we've just never listened.

Out of the three, which do you think came first: the heart, kidneys, or lungs?
    BBChild says...
It's by faith we believe these things. :) That's why I believe the Bible is the Word of God.

So the Laws of Logic came from nature, physics, common sense? But the Laws of Logic are what makes nature and common sense.

Cher's immune system was so low she couldn't visit us because one of us was sick. The chemotherapy was only making her hair fall out (by this time it didn't do much to help her).
Everything is in God's plan, even though it doesn't make sense to us. They might meet people that will change their lives, that they wouldn't have met if he died. Bad things happen, but it's not from God.

Actually, I bought a book about evolution. It was a great book because it explained evolution very well, which was to a fault because I could then prove evolution wrong. ;)
The Bible isn't just a fairy tail because it can account for things that nothing else can.
Depending on how we treat this Earth (mind you, the Earth will be destroyed anyways), it will affect the rest of the universe.

Just because the bones were deformed in some areas does not mean it won't be structurally sound. If you break an arm it won't affect your whole body. Even if your break most of your bones they'll still fit together.
Again, probably. Gravity is the same worldwide.

Creation supports science because Creation says God created us to be perfect. That means our brains were created to know the difference between right and wrong, and we could think rationally. Evolution says that our brains are a collection of chemical reactions that have been preserved because they had some sort of survival value in the past. So, if evolution were true, we would think "Evolution is true," not for rational reasons, but because of blind chemistry. Science could not exist if our brains worked that way.
Everything is possible through God. ^,^ Adam and Eve had children, their children had children, their children had children, ect.
Satan was cast out of heaven and became a lizard, not a snake. Later God made him a snake as more punishment. He could talk because even though he was cast out of heaven, he was still a supernatural being.
Jesus Christ is the Son of God. He died to save us. God raised Him from the dead. God has raised many people from the dead, as "illogical" as it seems.

But even though gravity is changing, it is still like its original. Magic and God are different. For one, magic is usually a trick, not something real that happens. God is powerful enough to create life itself.

God did write the Bible, but the Bible does not "support" slavery, murder, or rape. If there is a verse that plainly says, "Slavery/murder/rape is good," or something very close to that, tell me where, because no such verse exists. If you do study the Bible to prove Christianity wrong (instead of just Googling things to "prove it wrong";), then you would know that the Ten Commandments (written by God) say "Thou shall not murder."
I know God. It's like speaking for a friend because you know what they said.

So all three organs formed at the same time?
    BBChild says...
The Bible is the only book that we can trust because it is not man-made. The Bible records how the universe was created. We can trust the Bible. Most other textbooks cannot be trusted because they are written by man. No one saw evolution happen.

I'm asking where the Laws of Logic came from. Where did they come from?

I have my own personal witness to prove you wrong. :) My aunt, Cher, ha d breast cancer. Everyone was praying for her to become a Christian, because she wasn't saved yet. I think I was the only praying for her to get better.
When she had cancer, she was tired and drowsy. But then she was energetic and up and around. It even fooled the doctors.
Her cancer was so bad that her entire liver (it began to spread through her body) was swollen with tumors. Her doctor could feel where her liver was. But amazingly, at her next checkup, her doctor couldn't find it.
That wasn't luck. That was prayer and God's grace, giving her a second chance to live a Christian life.

Yes, I grew up in a Christian home. I'm very thankful I was homeschooled so that I wouldn't have to learn evolution (of course, I ended up learning everything about it later, because I wanted to debate).
I'm glad we agree on Twilight, at least. ;D But every bestseller has a reason for why it's a bestseller. I honestly don't know why Twilight is a bestseller, but I know why the Bible is. The Bible is the best book to read because not only is it true, but if you take it to heart, it will change your life. :)

Most fossils are found underground, so most of them would have been under pressure. It's mostly the rotting that would deform it.

Are you all those? I didn't know I was speaking to such a genius. ^,^
I do know quite a lot about science, and that's another reason why my faith is so strong. Science supports Creation because Creation can support science (Evolution destroys it).

Exactly. Evolution is a theory. It's constantly changing. However, Creation never changes because it has a solid foundation.

You cannot take anything out of context. If you didn't know, the Jews and Christians lived close to Egypt. Egypt is one of the first countries that started slavery.
God is against slavery because everyone is equal. He never says slavery is a good thing.
When God is talking about women being in submission, it is because they must respect their husbands.

*Organism. My apologies. So, which organism was created first?
    BBChild says...
The Bible is my rock and my salvation. It is the Holy Word of God. It is a history book of how the world was created and how Jesus came to save us.

Of course there are more planets, just none of them are standard living locations.

Where did the Laws of Logic come from, then?

Not everyone is a Christian. Some miracles happen to people who don't believe, but they often just say it was luck. God watches over His children, and those who believe in Him will receive His mercy and He will protect them. Those who do not will go to hell.
It's plain black and white, no matter how harsh it sounds.

The Bible is the best history book ever created. (It's also the bestselling book in the world) People thought the world was flat later on after Biblical history.
I would say it's possible. Over a few thousand years, if it was moist, the skull and other bones would probably rot and get crushed in certain areas, wherever pressure was strongest.

It's too small to have that much of an impact. It might have covered a bit of land around it, maybe half way across the ocean, but not around the world.

You believe evolution. Evolution is outdated. It was created when people though a cell was just a blob.

The Bible is the Word of God. Whatever the Bible says, it is true.
Tell me the entire chapter where it promotes racism and sexism. Just tell me which book and which chapter, I'll look it up myself.

No, which organism evolved first: the heart, kidneys, or lungs?
    BBChild says...
Where did you get that idea? God created the entire universe for us to explore and delight in. As you can tell, He also made it so that we can only live on Earth. (Besides, who'd want to live on a planet like Mars?)

You're saying right and wrong varies between people. If that's true, why is there laws? If someone thinks it's 'right' to kill someone, then they're breaking the law. But that doesn't matter because everyone makes their own rules. But if everyone makes their own rules, why is there laws?
And where do the Laws of Logic come from?

There are lots of miracles I could list. One of the most amazing miracles was a baby that was born with his heart to the side of his body. His lower organs were pushing up, crushing his lungs. But miraculously, over a few hours (it's even a miracle he lasted that long), his heart moved back to the center of his chest, and he's still alive today. The doctors did not do this; they couldn't do anything but watch as the baby's parents prayed.

Actually, in Biblical history, they buried the dead (they didn't have coffins, but they wrapped them and put them in graves).
Even bone can deform if it's rotted in damp mud for a few thousand years.

You seriously think a 10 km in diameter crater would kill animals everywhere? No contact that small could travel far enough to engulf the world. If it were grater, then it would have cracked the planet. We wouldn't be living today if that happened.

I know the universe is huge, but comets don't go from one system to another. But we still see comets. So how can the Earth be 4.5 billion years old?
There's the ocean. They call the water in it "salt water," because of the amount of salt in it. Salt accumulates on the bottom of the sea and comes in various ways. In about 500,000 years (maybe less!) the entire ocean would be filled with salt. Of course, that's not the case, since we haven't been able to reach the bottom.

So now you want us to have no will? But you do have a bit of a point. If God had forced us to be good by not giving us a choice, we wouldn't be debating because you would know God is the Creator of the universe. :)

Of course I believe we are the only living things in the universe; the Bible says so. God created one world that people were able to live on. We are special, God created us.
That is why racism is irrational; God created us as one.

Which organism was formed first, then?
    BBChild says...
    **Sorry, accidentally pressed "Post Comment"

In order for us to study nature, there must be an underlying orderliness; it must have some regularity in time and space.
Evolution says we were made by accident and we evolved. So that means everything else must have evolved, too. But if that's the case, we can't learn anything. It's like trying to find out about aliens; we don't know if there are any (I believe there aren't), and we don't know about them because we don't know them.

Here's how evolution is silly. If you're reading a book, you do not assume that it was created from random typos and letters over a long period of time. I mean, that is totally illogical.
    BBChild says...
God loves the universe and everything He made, but there's nothing really important about it. He created the entire universe so that our one planet, Earth, can survive. I don't get what you mean by "Does He just ignore it." If you look at the beautiful planets, they don't look like they're ignored.

What about emo/goth? They cut themselves. But that's okay, because THEY'RE making the rules. We want what's best for all of us? I don't think that's what terrorists think. If you don't remember, they blew up two buildings. That's because they thought it was "right." They made their own rules. Look what happened.

(Nothing is impossible for God :)
Has anyone ever found a fossil fully in tact? With ever bone properly in place? Of course not. Those skeletons are from the flood. They probably got deformed because of the great amount of pressure.
The flood happened about 5,800 years ago. We don't really know when it happened, but it was a short time after Adam and Eve sinned (Well, a few centuries).
Drop a pebble into the center of a hug lake. It's ripple won't go to the shore. You can say the meteor was bigger, probably you think it was the size of Canada or Australia. So if it was that big, the Earth would have cracked. Think of it. If you smashed a rock into a another rock, it would crack it. There is no cracks or impacts of the area that the meteor would have made.

C-14 is unstable, and it is constantly decaying. If the entire world was made out of carbon, in about 100,000 years there wouldn't even be an atom left. So an evolutionist cannot use carbon dating because it wouldn't last that long.
There is also evidences of the Earth being young in outer space. Comets are made out of ice and dirt, and they orbit in elliptical paths that occasionally bring them close to the sun. When a comet passes close to the sun, solar radiation heats the comet, causing its icy material to vaporize and disperse into space. This is what forms the comet's tail.
Because of this, comets can only last for about 100,000 years before completely fading away. This is not a problem for a Biblical time scale, but it is for evolution. If the universe was billions of years old, there wouldn't be any comets!

Because if He didn't give us a choice, we'd all just be robots. We wouldn't have a mind of our own.
See, God trusts us, and He wants us to do what He says. If we just did what He said because we didn't have a choice, we wouldn't have a relationship with Him. See, God created us because He loves us. That's why He created the world so beautiful, so we can enjoy it.

In order for us to study nature, there must be an underlying orderliness; it must have some regularity in time and space.
Evolution says we were made by accident and we evolved
    BBChild says...
That's an invalid question. x3 "What about the rest of the universe?" Isn't connected to any topic.

So, if I think it's "right" to murder someone, that's okay, then, right? If I think it's fine to choke my own baby, it's fine, because I'M making the rules. That's what you're saying. See how the world goes up in chaos of that was the case?

*Gapes* You must be impressively young if you don't understand how a flood can create fossils.
I'll explain how the flood created fossils, then. Rain began to fall so fast and so hard that pools were created. In a matter of minutes, most of the ground was covered in water. Any animal outside the ark, any human (You do know about the ark?), was instantly drowned. The water was furious. It stirred up mud and no living thing stood a chance. They were instantly buried in mud, millions of layers upon layers washed over them. When the flood ended and the water drained away, the ground hardened, and the buried animals became fossils. It couldn't have happened over millions of years because there are fossils of animals eating animals. :3 It doesn't take that long to eat dinner.

Of course carbon dating is wrong. Carbon dating has nothing to do with millions of years; it wouldn't last that long.
