Description
Zygos are fairly large flying insect Verpets. They are found in beautiful variations of shimmering colours, and sport long flexible tails with glowing ends. They have 6 legs and 4 thin clear glassy wings. Their eyes are almond shaped and shiny with a cross grid pattern and though they have an exoskeleton their shell is covered by a soft velvet on its back.
Behavior
Zygo often live in pairs, and family groups with a single caretaker when they are young. They are almost constantly in hovering flight, and are only ever seen resting on stalactites in the cave. Highly intelligent, they are very acutely-tuned to their masters feelings, and are said to hum a soft song that helps calm the soul, though its said they will only sing to those they trust. Though shy and elusive, they domesticate easily when caught and are wonderful gentle pets.
Habitat
They live in rocky outcroppings in the cave and stalactites, feeding off smaller mites and mineral deposits. They are often seen in the air though, and have even been caught sleeping while hovering in mid flight.
