Description
Sanctum are a small Verpet adorned with spines. In addition to using them for defense, Sanctums will also dig their spines into the side of a tree they have climbed and sleep high in the canopy away from predators. Though they have wings, they cannot fly, however they use them to slow their descent when they leap from high in the trees to the ground.
Behavior
Sanctum are largely solitary Verpets and have antisocial natures to show for it. Though not considered to be dangerous or aggressive, they will brandish their spikes toward any creature larger than them. Sanctums do not make the greatest of pets, but once they grow to trust their owners they become much easier to handle.
Habitat
Sanctums reside high in the tree tops for most of their lives to avoid predators. They venture to the ground only to forage for food when they can find none in the trees.
