Description
Maha are large, flightless bird Verpets. They have long muscular legs and strong beaks for felling prey. They flap their brightly-colored wings as they run to increase their speed. Maha have small glowing orbs on their heads and tail feathers which do not aid them in seeing in the dark, but are used during mating rituals and threat displays.
Behavior
Maha are relatively friendly toward other Verpets so long as they don't see them as prey items. They are social and somewhat inquisitive, but shy away from humans for the most part. It takes a while to earn a Maha's trust, but they make loyal pets once they get accustomed to their new owner.
Habitat
Maha dwell in the caverns underneath the Island of Verpets. They congregate in areas with low sun light, as their eyes are not fully adapted to living in dark conditions. Hunting Maha can be found standing over Wugley burrows for hours on end waiting for their primary food source to pop out of the ground.
