Scientific Name Porpae luminiter
Classification Prehistorae
Description
Haika appear to be prehistoric dolphins, but they are actually fish. They have a bioluminescent orb hanging just above their snouts that they use to attract prey, and large, formidable teeth for grabbing them.
Behavior
Haika are incredibly intelligent Verpets and are even able to solve simple puzzles. They are social with other Haika, but intolerant of most other aquatic species, especially the Ksholo. They make good pets, but if left to their own devices they will get into trouble.
Habitat
Haika live in the dark freshwater streams of the Caverns underneath the Island of Verpets. They shy away from lit areas as they rely on their own light to attract their food.
