Description
At first glance, many Verpets users will confuse the massive Chien for a lion. Research of the species has shown that the Verpet is in fact related much more closely to dogs. Chiens of both genders sport massive manes used to attract mates and intimidate possible rivals at the same time. The spots on their body help to hide them as they prowl through the long grass of the fields for prey.
Behavior
Wild Chien are known to be aggressive, and caution should be taken when approaching one. They most commonly travel in small packs, so they are somewhat socialized. It is best to try to domesticate a Chien while it is still young, as older pets of the species prove to be stubborn. Once a Chien becomes bonded to a user, it becomes highly protective of them and their families, and will attack anything perceived as a threat.
Habitat
Chien can be found dozing under scrub in the fields during most of the day, but once night falls they will venture out to hunt for prey.
