    name : Laith Byrne
age : Several hundred years, he appears in his late twenties.
    gender : Male
    species: Vampire
home : No fixed place – he gets restless and moves.
sexual orientation : In theory he’s bi. Usually he has little to no interest in this, and it takes an exceptional person to even bring the question of orientation to the fore. He has no lasting use for women, no matter how beautiful.
lover : In the strictest sense of the word – none.
appearance : He certainly doesn’t appear human. Though he is neither exceptionally tall or muscular looking, something in his appearance suggests great strength. He has an almost aristocratic appearance about him, complete with a haughty attitude that shows, more often than not, in his expression and composure. Slate-blue hair frames this finely sculpted face, handing just past his shoulders and seemingly requiring little in terms of care when styling. His eyes are a bright, molten gold that have a tendency to unsettle when fixed on a person for any length of time.
characteristics : Arrogant. Dismissive. Not one prone to rash behaviour. Has a peculiar sense of humour. Defensive of his own. Uses people for his own ends. Contemptuous of those beneath him.
history : Laith’s transformation into a vampire is something he claims to barely recall, though the experience is etched upon his memory as clear as the day it occurred. He remained with his sire for so short a time, though he learnt much from him, until his sire was set upon and destroyed by other immortal beings. Told by his sire to run, hide and not involve himself, the young Laith crouched like a coward as his creator was destroyed, and it took him many, many years to overcome the feelings of cowardice that accompanied this and to bury the lingering pain. Favouring his own kind over humans, he took himself by surprise just under a century ago when he took a human boy by the name of Ziad under his wing. Originally using the human as little more than passing amusement and a free meal – though he most often kills those he feeds from – the two struck up an agreement and Ziad became his own little fledgling vampire. He two keep in surprisingly close contact, and though he is unable to cure his friend of a sympathy and liking for mortals, Ziad is possibly the only person for whom Laith would lay down his own life.
