Whether you're questing with Liviana's Expedition, interested in selling flowers, or just enjoy watching plants grow, the Verpets Gardens are the place for you. At the gardens, you can plant and tend to any of the various seeds found throughout the world of Verpets. You can purchase your seeds, watering utensils, fertilizer, and even garden tools from the Garden Shop which is located in the Countryside. Buying seeds and other supplies is easy enough, but once you've acquired them, the real work begins- growing your seeds into beautiful flowers. This can be a challenge for even the most avid gardener, but this section of the guide will provide you with many tips and hints on keeping even the most fickle plants alive and happy.
Planting Your Seed
When you first begin gardening, you will notice that you have six plots of land by default. Each seed you would like to plant has a specific amount of land required to plant it. Some seeds require only one plot of land, whereas other seeds will require all six of your default plots.
To plant a seed, first select the seed you would like to plant. It will say beside the seed how many plots of land are required for this seed to grow. Select that number of plots, and then click "grow."
Congratulations, you've just planted your first seed!
If the flower you're looking to grow is one of the Hybrid flowers, then you will have to follow a slightly different procedure. First, select one of the seeds in the first drop down box, and then select the other drop down box. It won't tell you how many plots of land your hybrid flower will take up, so you'll have to figure your first one out using trial and error.
Caring For Your Seed
After planting, you will see an aerial view of each of your occupied plots. You can click on any one of them to see what you're growing there. The first thing you will see upon planting is the "never!" under both the "Last Watered" and "Last Fertilized" information bars.
Each flower has its own unique growth pattern, and different seeds require different amounts of water and fertilizer to keep them healthy and happy. It's a simple process of experimentation to find out how much water your seed requires per day. If your plant's health drops after you water it, then you've exceeded the amount of waterings per day that it needs. Similarly, if your plant's mood drops the next day even though you watered it a few times, you didn't water it enough.
Fertilizer is not required for your plant to grow successfully. Like real-world gardening, using fertilizer on your plant serves to give it a health boost and speed up its growth. Over-fertilization is a big danger, however, and if you fertilize your plant again too soon- you'll hurt it. As with watering, each type of seed has a specific amount of time that the fertilizer will last before it wears off and you can re-fertilize, though it is slightly more difficult to discern how long the fertilizer lasts than it is to figure out how often to water a plant. Different plants prefer different fertilizers over each other, though any fertilizer used will speed up your plant's growth process.
Once you've figured out how to water and fertilize your plant, it's time to sit back and watch it grow. Every plant grows in stages, with it being ready to harvest when it flowers. Once your plant gets to the stage where you think it will be ready for harvest soon, it is very important to monitor it closely- as it won't bloom forever! If you wait too long between the time your plant flowers and the time you go to harvest it, the flower will die and you will have to start all over with another seed. At harvest time, if you've taken good care of your plant and it is in good health, you may get not only your flower, but also more seeds, allowing you to grow even more of that type of plant!
