Sol didn't by it, he keen nose smelt something trying to cover its scent, but the scent of wolf was still there. the badger smell was strong, it didn't hide all the wolf scent. Sol's ears twitched back and forth, listening. "Maybe" she said.

Miklos began to panic a little, and began to think carefully. He looked to his left and then his right, looking for the quickest and quietest escape route. Seeing none, he huffed and then turned tail before bolting away as quickly as he could. In his desperate state, he lazily misstepped and skidded along the ground for a moment, making a horrible racket. He grunted at the impact and then threw himself back onto his toes, running just as quickly as he had before the trip.

"Did you hear that?" Sol took off running toward the location of the noise that a deaf dog could follow. she moved swiftly and daftly over the rough terrain like an antelope, her many years of bounding thru deep snow. "Come on, its gonna get away Niki!" Sol hollered back to her friend.

Nikita followed quickly, curious as to what had produced the noise. Her nostrils filled with the think lingering scent of badger musk, but it was not as pungent as usual. This only filled her withe more burning questions, and fueled her desire to find the animal that produced it.

Miko rushed into a small den that his keen eyes spotted to his right. He struggled a little to crawl much deeper into the hole, but still fought to regardless. This battle was quickly lost though, as he had worked himself into too little of a space for his large body and got stuck midway.

Snow walked down the slope as best as she could to reach Raven, who was inspecting something. "What did you find?" She asked curiously as she watched her step.
Why? Why do humans always look to the sky? Why do you all try so hard to fly when you don't have any wings? We use what we've been given. We'll run on our own legs for as long as it takes.

Raven looked up at Snow. "Its a pup, it must have fallen into the ditch. Its alive, but out cold i think." Ravewn said nudging the puppy again.

Sol put ehr nose to the ground following a faint wolf scent mixed with badger, until she came up a disturbed thicket. looking around she started smelling and listening for anything that would give her an idea where to proceed next.

"Oh, poor pup." She said as she lowered her head a little and gently nudge the pup's small head. "Come on little one. Wake up." She softly whispered to it.

"S-Snow!" Kain yelled out as he cautiously climbed down the steep slope to reach the others.

"Look... this poor pup might of have fallen." She looked at the pup concerned.

It hadn't been much different than any other night. They had spent their day traversing, stopping long enough to quench their thirst or scare up a quick meal. But, as Father Sun had fallen to make room for Mother Moon, the group had heard a single call. And there was so much desire and longing in that call, a friendly invitation with subtle declaration of authority, that they had stopped.

"Do you think it's safe, Kamilah?" Zyhira had glanced earnestly over at her taller, darker counterpart.

"One can never really tell." She heard Itzal's murmured assent. "But whoever it is sounds safe enough. We'll attempt a non-confrontational meeting and passage in the morning. Night's cover is not ideal." And so they had found a tiny alcove down wind and curled up together to sleep the night away.

But Kamilah had woken early, climbing out of the alcove and to the rock overlook. She watched the sun rise, spreading its arms of pink, gold, and orange over the valley below. The birds were invited to sing, small animals to stir, the water to laugh. Peaceful, quaint, and tranquil. It was a truly beautiful land, something far different from the sand and scrub she hailed from.

Kamilah started, jumping quickly to her feet, only to find Itzal hobbling up behind her. "I didn't mean to frighten you. Zyhira has found a group of rabbits. We should eat before heading out." Kamilah nodded, following the brute down the hillside. About an hour later, they buried their bones, rinsed off in the stream, and continued forward.

It wasn't long, however, before Itazal stopped. He looked perplexed. "What's wrong?" Kamilah asked, trotting back to her friend.

"Do you smell that?" Kamilah turned her nose, hoping to find what it was that had Itzal confused. "It's a badger... but it's not." His tail twitched, his expression deepening. "Let's go find it."

Nikita looked at Sol and sighed a little. She missed being able to rely on sight for clues. Instead, she closed her eyes and lowered her head to the ground. Over the years she had learned that trying to use both senses for hints towards anything only threw off her concentration. She began to sniff about in the mangled shrubbery, figuring that this is where the scent would be strongest and she would be able to hone in on it. Her heart sank a little when she found what she was looking for.

"I've found the trail..." she announced, voice dripping in fake enthusiam. Without saying anything more, she began to trudge along the path.

Miklos grunted and cursed under his breath as he tried to wriggle himself free. He couldn't help but poke jests at himself despite the situation he was in. "This is what I get for eating all those 'poor' defenseless animals for all these years." he said to himself aloud. The brute sighed and then sat still as he thought about how best to proceed. There was little light in the tunnel, but as luck would have it there was just enough for him to see a gnarled conglomerate of a root a little ways in front of him. His eyes traced what he could of it, and finally laid rest on a small capillary within reach. He thought that if he could manage to pull it out of place just a little ways, it may cause a snowball effect to take place and give him enough room to make his escape. "Here goes nothin'," he breathed before grabbing it between his strong jaws and pulling downwards as hard as he could manage in the cramped space. As he had hoped, a snowball effect did happen, only it didn't quite go as well as he had initailly planned.

The result of his attempt caused a small cave in, and left him even worse off than before. Now he could not move much at all, and the flow of fresh cleansing oxygen had been reduced drastically.

"You don't sound so enthusiastic." Sol commented plainly. She had use of all her senses and she had to admire Nikita for over coming the failure of one of her senses. "So what shall we do about this?"
