FACT's Blog - I'm...torn.
Jul 18th 2008 @ 7:04 am
As most of the people who read this site's blogs know, recently the comments have been inflamed with nasty fighting.

I'm not going to mention any names, since names aren't relevant. What matters is that there are basically two sides: the users who think the blogs should be for a person to write anything they want in, and the people who are strongly against 'spam' blogs.

I can't take a side, because a, I believe that everybody has a right to be heard, and b, I have always been against so-called spam, especially since the blogs page only lists five of the latest ones at a time. The 'spam' pushes down more relevant blogs.

...I'm probably going to get flamed for this, but I think your fighting is pointless and childish. To the people who keep saying that free will extends to blogs, do realize that your so called spam pushes down other people's stuff, and they don't like that. To those who say that spam should not be allowed, please give me a clear and concise definition of spam. No examples, just words. I'll see if it matches up anybody else's.

Just give up on the fighting, you're making yourself look stupid by fighting over little bits of text on a website. =/

P.S: Don't pull the 'you're a staff member, you can say no wrong' judgment on me. I'm entitled to my own opinions and I can say them however I wish.

I always upsets me when people, fight, no matter what it's about. But this is just ridiculous.

The internet is specifically designed to be a big place. The world is full of billions of people, and they're all different. Some might say blogs should have purpose, while others say it's a place to speak your mind. But the internet is big enough for them all.

I guess what I'm trying to say is, live and let live. :)
